Delhi Cop Busted: CBI Traps Sub-Inspector in ₹40,000 Bribery Scandal

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested Delhi Police Sub-Inspector Vijay Singh for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹40,000. The money was reportedly demanded to prevent the arrest of a complainant’s cousin.

Singh allegedly promised to facilitate the securing of anticipatory bail for the relative. The CBI laid a trap following a complaint, leading to the arrest.

Following the arrest, both SI Singh and the Station House Officer (SHO) of the concerned police station were swiftly suspended by the Delhi Police.

The CBI has reiterated its commitment to tackling corruption within law enforcement agencies and urged citizens to report any instances of bribery or misconduct. This case underscores the need for stringent action against corrupt officials and serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against systemic corruption within the Delhi Police. The incident raises serious concerns about the integrity of the force and its ability to uphold the law.
