Dengue Alert! Karnal’s Fogging Blitz Targets 3,891 Breeding Sites
Karnal Municipal Corporation (MC) launched a city-wide fogging drive on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in response to a recent surge in dengue fever cases. Twelve dengue cases have been confirmed so far, with no fatalities reported.
MC inspection teams have been actively surveying the city. Their findings revealed a significant number of potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes. A total of 3,891 households were found to have stagnant water, leading to the issuance of 1,552 notices.
The civic body is urging residents to actively participate in dengue prevention. This includes the immediate elimination of all stagnant water sources and observing a strict ‘Dry Day’ to curb mosquito breeding.
This proactive approach by the Karnal MC highlights the urgent need for community involvement in combating the spread of dengue. The success of this campaign will depend on the collective efforts of citizens and the municipal corporation in ensuring a healthy and mosquito-free environment. The high number of breeding sites identified underscores the scale of the challenge and the importance of sustained public awareness.
