ED Raids Expose Alleged UP Solar Scam: Middleman in IAS Officer’s Crosshairs

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a series of searches on August 7, 2025, targeting premises linked to Nikant Jain. Jain is suspected of acting as a middleman in a bribery scandal involving IAS officer Abhishek Prakash.

The investigation centres on alleged kickbacks related to a solar project approval facilitated through the Invest UP initiative. Jain allegedly demanded a five percent commission for securing the project’s clearance.

The ED’s probe is focused on potential money laundering and meticulously tracing the flow of funds. The agency is scrutinising financial transactions to uncover the extent of the alleged bribery.
