Haryana Hospitals to Halt Services: Ayushman Bharat Payment Crisis
Indian Medical Association (IMA)-affiliated hospitals in Haryana, including those in Sirsa, will cease all healthcare services from August 6, 2025. This drastic step follows six months of outstanding payments under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The IMA claims significant financial strain due to the delayed reimbursements, severely impacting hospital operations and potentially jeopardizing patient care.
Hospitals are demanding immediate payment of all pending dues. The association also proposes the establishment of a dedicated government board to streamline future payments and prevent similar crises.
This action highlights the critical need for efficient and timely disbursement of funds under Ayushman Bharat. The potential disruption to healthcare access in Haryana underscores the urgency of resolving this payment deadlock and ensuring the scheme’s effectiveness. The impact on vulnerable populations needing affordable healthcare remains a major concern.
