Kurukshetra Cracks Down on Stray Cattle Menace
Kurukshetra district administration is launching a major crackdown on stray cattle causing widespread disruption to residents and tourists alike. The move follows numerous complaints regarding cattle roaming freely, creating safety hazards and damaging property.
The administration will adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards irresponsible cattle owners. Legal action, including hefty fines, will be initiated against those found abandoning their animals.
A month-long special drive, from August 1 to 31, will focus on rounding up stray cattle. These animals will be tagged, and efforts will be made to rehabilitate them in local gaushalas (cow shelters).
This initiative aims to restore order and safety in public spaces. The success of this campaign will serve as a model for other districts grappling with similar issues, potentially influencing nationwide policy on stray cattle management.
