Mumbai Police on August 7, 2025, successfully rescued a six-day-old boy from a child trafficking ring. The operation followed a tip-off from a social activist.

Four arrests were made, including the infant’s parents. Two women were apprehended while receiving a payment of Rs 4.5 lakh.

Police confirmed that an advance payment of Rs 1 lakh had already been made to the parents. The accused will face charges under relevant anti-trafficking laws.

This successful operation highlights the persistent threat of child trafficking in India and underscores the crucial role of citizen vigilance and proactive policing in combating this heinous crime.
