PLA Jets Breach Taiwan’s Air Defences: 14 Sorties Cross Median Line
The Ministry of National Defence (MND) in Taiwan reported a significant incursion into its airspace on Thursday, August 7, 2025. A total of 15 sorties by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) were detected.
Of these, a concerning 14 aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, entering Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
The incursions occurred across multiple areas, including Taiwan’s northern, southwestern, and eastern ADIZ. This represents a substantial escalation in PLAAF activity near Taiwan.
The MND is closely monitoring the situation and remains vigilant against further provocations. This latest incident underscores the growing tensions in the Taiwan Strait and raises serious concerns about regional stability.
