Rail projects stuck over land acquisition in state: Vaishnaw

Punjab AAP Govt Stalls Rail Projects: Vaishnaw’s Sharp Rebuke

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has sharply criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab for the significant delays plaguing several crucial railway projects within the state. The Minister attributed these delays directly to the state government’s slow pace of land acquisition.

Despite a substantial increase in budgetary allocation for railway infrastructure development in Punjab, numerous projects remain stalled. This has led to considerable concern within the Ministry.

The commissioning rate of these projects has not seen a commensurate improvement, despite the increased funding. This points to a critical bottleneck in the land acquisition process, hindering overall progress.

This impasse highlights a growing tension between the Centre and the Punjab government. The delay in crucial rail projects not only impacts the state’s economic growth but also inconveniences millions of commuters who rely on efficient rail connectivity. The urgent need for swift resolution is undeniable, impacting both development and public convenience.
