Kingfisher Takes Flight: Khelo India Water Sports Festival Mascot Unveiled

The much-anticipated Khelo India Water Sports Festival mascot, the Himalayan Kingfisher, was released in Srinagar on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The vibrant bird will represent the upcoming games.

The event, a first of its kind, promises a spectacular showcase of aquatic talent. It will be held at the picturesque Dal Lake.

The festival is scheduled to run from August 21 to 23, 2025, as per a press release from the Sports Authority of India (SAI).

This initiative aims to promote water sports and boost tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, showcasing the region’s natural beauty on a national platform. The event is expected to attract a large number of participants and spectators alike, further energizing the sports scene in the state.
