Yamuna Floods: Delhi BJP, AAP Face Devender Yadav’s Ire
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president, Devender Yadav, launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led Delhi government Wednesday, September 3, 2025, over its handling of the recent Yamuna Bazar floods. He accused the administration of a complete failure in protecting residents and providing adequate relief.
Yadav’s criticism extended to both the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), alleging a lack of coordination and responsiveness to the crisis. He pointed to the administration’s inaction despite prior warnings of potential flooding.
The DPCC chief demanded immediate financial assistance and compensation for the affected families in Yamuna Bazar. He also highlighted the outstanding flood compensation from 2023, still pending with the government.
This incident underscores the urgent need for a comprehensive flood management plan for Delhi, a plan that transcends political affiliations and prioritizes the safety and well-being of its citizens. The ongoing delays in disbursing compensation further expose the systemic apathy towards vulnerable communities.
