Punjab Tech Varsity Gets New VC: Sharma Takes the Reins

Professor Sanjeev Kumar Sharma has been appointed the new Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda. The appointment was announced on September 15, 2025.

His tenure will be for a period of three years. Professor Sharma’s extensive experience in higher education makes him a suitable candidate for the role.

Currently, he serves as the Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell at Panjab University, Chandigarh. His expertise will be crucial in steering MRSPTU’s academic growth.

This appointment is expected to bring significant changes to the university, particularly in enhancing its academic standards and research output. The state’s technical education sector will be closely watching his leadership.
