Haryana Overhauls Waste Management: Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar Get Separate Plans
Haryana is set to revamp its waste management strategy for Gurugram, Faridabad, and Manesar, following the acknowledged failure of existing systems. The state government announced the development of separate, decentralised plans for each city, tailored to their unique waste generation challenges.
This move comes in response to mounting concerns over overflowing landfills and inefficient waste processing. The current system has been plagued by delays in payments to vendors, leading to repeated crises.
The new plans aim to address these systemic issues. The government has pledged its full support, including timely payments to waste management vendors, to ensure smooth operations.
The ambitious project aims to resolve the ongoing waste management crisis within six months. Success will be crucial, not only for maintaining hygiene and public health in these rapidly growing urban centers, but also for showcasing a model of efficient waste management for other Indian cities facing similar challenges.
