Chandigarh University Kidnap: Ransom Demand, Five Accused
Chandigarh Police have arrested two students of Chandigarh University and booked three others in connection with the kidnapping of Atharv Dhiman, a 19-year-old BTech first-year student from Dharamsala. The incident occurred on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Dhiman was abducted from the university campus by four individuals in a car. He was subsequently taken to an area near a canal.
The kidnappers demanded a ransom from Dhiman’s family. The police launched a swift investigation, leading to the arrest of two of the accused students.
Three other individuals involved in the crime are currently being pursued by the authorities. The police are working to recover the ransom money, if any was paid.
