MRI & CT Scan Desert: Haryana’s Healthcare Gap Widens
Rewari and Mahendragarh districts in Haryana are grappling with a severe shortage of essential medical imaging facilities, despite government assurances. Government hospitals in both districts lack MRI services, leaving residents with limited options.
Patients are forced to rely on expensive private diagnostic centers or undertake arduous journeys to access these vital scans. The situation is even more critical in Mahendragarh, which also lacks CT scan facilities.
Local officials attribute the deficiency to the slow implementation of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models and pending administrative approvals. This is despite the fact that the Health Minister himself represents the region.
The lack of access to MRI and CT scans poses a significant challenge to timely diagnosis and treatment, particularly for those with limited financial resources. This highlights a critical gap in healthcare infrastructure, demanding immediate attention from the state government. The issue underscores the disconnect between government pronouncements and ground realities, particularly impacting the vulnerable sections of society.
