BJP Faces Zila Parishad Heat Over Price Hikes, BPL Card Cancellations
Zila Parishad member Sanjay Barwasnia launched a scathing attack on the BJP government on Monday, July 7, 2025, over its handling of rising electricity bills and mustard oil prices. His protest specifically targeted the impact on Below Poverty Line (BPL) families.
Barwasnia highlighted the cancellation of several BPL cards, accusing the administration of reneging on its promises to uplift the poor. He termed the policies “anti-people”.
The Zila Parishad member demanded an immediate rollback of the price increases and the reinstatement of the cancelled BPL cards. He vowed to continue his fight for the welfare of the affected families.
This escalation of protests underscores growing public discontent over rising living costs, particularly impacting vulnerable sections of society. The BJP government now faces increasing pressure to address these concerns effectively before the issue further escalates.
