Drug War Yields Big Wins in : 550 Arrests, Rehab for 250
A major crackdown on drug trafficking in district has resulted in a significant victory for law enforcement. Police have registered 400 First Information Reports (FIRs) against drug peddlers since the launch of the anti-drug drive.
A total of 550 suspected drug peddlers have been arrested and are currently facing legal proceedings. Furthermore, 250 addicts have been admitted to rehabilitation centers as part of the comprehensive strategy.
The initiative also included the demolition of five illegal structures allegedly used for drug-related activities. This decisive action highlights the authorities’ commitment to eradicating the menace.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) attributed the success to the active participation of the local community. He lauded the efforts of local defense committees and highlighted the role of community engagement programs, including meetings and sporting events, in gathering crucial intelligence.
