Coimbatore Blast Fugitive Nabbed After 29 Years
Sadiq, a prime accused in the devastating 1998 Coimbatore bomb blasts that claimed 58 lives, has finally been apprehended. The arrest, made in Karnataka, concludes a nearly three-decade long manhunt.
He is also implicated in a series of communal murders and petrol bomb attacks across the state. Sadiq’s capture marks a significant victory for law enforcement.
This is the third major success for the Tamil Nadu Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), formed just last year in 2023. The ATS has proven its effectiveness in tracking down and apprehending long-absconding terror suspects.
The arrest brings a measure of closure to the families of the victims and underscores the continued commitment to bringing perpetrators of such heinous crimes to justice. It also serves as a potent deterrent against future acts of terror.
