Monsoon Fury: Flash Flood Threat Looms Over Six Districts

Heavy rainfall is expected to lash the state until July 15, prompting a yellow weather warning. Six districts are under a flash flood alert.

Dhaulakuan bore the brunt of the downpour in the last 24 hours, recording an impressive 168.5 mm of rainfall. Isolated pockets across the state experienced heavy showers.

Light to moderate rain is predicted to continue until July 16. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) advises residents to remain vigilant.

This prolonged spell of intense rainfall raises serious concerns about potential damage to infrastructure and agriculture, demanding urgent preparedness measures from state authorities. The IMD’s warning underscores the need for proactive disaster management strategies to minimize the impact on vulnerable populations.
