India’s Textile Power Play: Tokyo Fair Targets Japan Market

India is making a significant push into the Japanese textile and apparel market. The India Tex Trend Fair, currently underway in Tokyo, aims to capitalise on growing demand and China’s weakening position.

Organised jointly by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) and the Japan India Apparel and Industrial Promotion Association (JIIPA), the event boasts over 150 Indian exporters.

These exhibitors are showcasing the best of Indian textiles, hoping to secure lucrative deals and partnerships with Japanese brands. High-level meetings are also planned to explore investment opportunities.

The fair comes at a crucial time, with Japan seeking reliable alternatives to China. Success in Tokyo could significantly boost India’s textile exports and create numerous jobs within the sector. The outcome will be closely watched as an indicator of India’s broader economic strategy in Asia.
