China’s Military Encircles Taiwan: 14 Aircraft, 9 Vessels in Provocative Show

Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defence (MND) reported heightened military activity around the island on Saturday, July 12, 2025. The MND detected fourteen Chinese military aircraft and nine naval vessels operating in the vicinity.

One official Chinese ship was also observed. This activity concluded by 6 am local time.

The MND’s statement underscores escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait. This latest incursion follows a pattern of increasingly assertive actions by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

Experts warn that such displays of military might could significantly destabilise the region and raise concerns of potential conflict. The incident demands close monitoring as it highlights the growing challenges to regional peace and stability.
