India Poised for Air Cargo Supremacy: 10 Million MTPA Target by 2030
New Delhi, July 12: A new knowledge paper, “India’s Air Cargo Horizon,” released today at the 4th ACFI Annual Conclave, paints a vibrant picture of India’s burgeoning air cargo sector. The collaborative effort of Air Cargo Forum India (ACFI) and ASCELA Insights projects a threefold increase in air cargo volumes to 10 million metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) by 2030.
This ambitious projection is fueled by several key factors. The e-commerce explosion, supportive government policies, new infrastructure development, and soaring demand for high-value goods like pharmaceuticals and perishable items are all contributing to this phenomenal growth.
The paper outlines a strategic vision to establish India as a global air cargo leader, capitalising on shifting global trade routes and regional opportunities. It underscores the need for proactive measures to ensure the sector’s resilience and sustained growth.
This ambitious plan holds significant implications for India’s economy. A robust air cargo sector will not only boost exports and create jobs but also strengthen India’s position in the global supply chain, impacting various industries and improving logistics efficiency across the nation.
