Highway Project Stalled: Commuters Face Fresh Delays
Patel Infrastructure has abandoned the Pinjore-Baddi-Nalagarh highway project, leaving it 55% incomplete after 39 months of work. The company cited persistent delays as the reason for its withdrawal.
The project, initiated in April 2022, was initially slated for completion much sooner. However, unforeseen hurdles led to significant delays, impacting commuters and local businesses.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will now re-tender the remaining construction work. This further adds to the project’s timeline, causing uncertainty and inconvenience.
The abandonment casts a shadow on infrastructure development in the region. The ensuing delays will likely impact industrial activity and economic growth in the Baddi-Nalagarh industrial belt, a crucial contributor to Himachal Pradesh’s economy. The NHAI’s swift action in re-tendering is crucial to mitigate the long-term impact of this setback.
