Mishra Blasts Predecessors Amidst Northeast Delhi Building Collapses
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra on Saturday launched a scathing attack on previous administrations, holding them responsible for the recent building collapses in Northeast Delhi. He attributed the incidents to rampant corruption and unchecked illegal construction, allegedly fueled by vote-bank politics.
Mishra demanded thorough investigations into the matter and stringent punishment for those found culpable. He stressed the need for a comprehensive review of building regulations and enforcement mechanisms.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and MP Manoj Tiwari expressed their condolences to the victims’ families and appealed for caution amongst residents in the affected areas. They also pledged support for relief and rehabilitation efforts.
The incidents have raised serious questions about building safety regulations and enforcement in the capital. The need for robust mechanisms to prevent future tragedies is now paramount, especially given the vulnerability of many informal settlements across Delhi.
