MCD Gears Up for Monsoon: Disease Prevention Takes Centre Stage
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is launching a comprehensive campaign to combat the surge in monsoon-related diseases expected in the coming weeks. Hospitals across the city are being prepared with dedicated beds, essential medical supplies, and round-the-clock staffing.
A significant focus is on proactive measures to control mosquito-borne illnesses. Intensified anti-mosquito operations, including larviciding and fogging drives, are underway across all zones. Public awareness campaigns are also being rolled out to educate citizens on preventive measures.
Addressing the threat of cholera, the MCD is distributing chlorine tablets and Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) in vulnerable areas. Citizens are urged to report any suspected cases immediately and cooperate fully with health inspectors during house-to-house inspections.
The MCD’s preparedness is crucial given Delhi’s susceptibility to waterborne and vector-borne diseases during the monsoon season. The success of this campaign will directly impact public health and the overall well-being of Delhiites in the coming months.
