Ambala Boy, 7, Mauled by Stray Dogs; Needs Urgent Surgery
A seven-year-old boy suffered grievous injuries in a brutal stray dog attack near Ambala Cantt on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. The incident occurred while the child was playing in his village.
The boy sustained multiple bite wounds to his hands, legs, and back. He was initially admitted to a local hospital before being referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
Doctors at PGIMER have confirmed the need for immediate surgery to address the extensive injuries. The child’s condition is currently being monitored.
This incident highlights the escalating problem of stray dogs in many parts of Haryana and the urgent need for effective and humane measures to control their population. The lack of robust animal birth control programmes and effective stray dog management continues to put communities, especially children, at risk.
