Jhampur Tragedy: Husband, Brother-in-Law Held in Wife’s Suicide
Dilip Kumar and his brother Arun Kumar were arrested on July 29, 2025, in connection with the death of Dilip’s wife, Pinky (26). Pinky was found dead at their Jhampur residence, having apparently hanged herself.
She was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared brought dead. A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against the two men.
The police investigation stems from a complaint filed by Pinky’s brother, alleging persistent harassment leading to his sister’s tragic end.
Crucially, a video has surfaced showing Pinky with visible injuries, accusing Dilip and Arun of physically assaulting her. This video forms a key piece of evidence in the ongoing investigation.
The arrests highlight the grim reality of domestic violence in India and the urgent need for stronger protective measures for women facing such abuse. The case underscores the importance of timely intervention and support systems to prevent similar tragedies.
