400kg Hydroponic Ganja Bust at RGIA: Bangkok-Dubai Smuggling Ring Exposed
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) made a significant drug seizure at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on July 31, 2025. A woman was apprehended with 400 kilograms of hydroponic ganja, estimated to be worth Rs 40 crore.
The woman, whose identity is currently being withheld, allegedly procured the drugs from Bangkok, Thailand. She then routed her journey through Dubai in an attempt to evade detection by Indian authorities.
NCB officials suspect a large-scale smuggling operation is involved. Investigations are underway to identify her accomplices in both Thailand and India. The agency is pursuing leads to dismantle the entire network.
This significant seizure highlights the increasing sophistication of international drug trafficking networks targeting India. The use of hydroponic ganja, known for its high potency, underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for strengthened border security and inter-agency cooperation.
