Tramadol Trail Leads to Haridwar: Amritsar Bust Nets 70,000 Tablets

Amritsar Police have cracked down on a major illegal Tramadol supply network, arresting six individuals including chemists and a plant head. The operation, initiated following a smaller drug seizure, unearthed a large-scale manufacturing unit operating out of Haridwar.

The raid yielded over 70,000 Tramadol tablets, a significant amount of cash believed to be drug money, and substantial quantities of raw materials used in the production of the controlled substance.

Adding a shocking twist to the investigation, some of the seized tablets bore the markings “Government Supply Only – Not for Sale,” raising serious questions about potential official complicity.

This significant bust highlights the growing challenge of illegal pharmaceutical trafficking in India, demanding stricter regulatory oversight and inter-state cooperation to curb the menace. The implications of government-marked tablets appearing in an illegal network warrant a thorough probe to identify and prosecute those involved.
