Naisha Mehta Rolls into History: India Bags Asian Roller-Skating Gold

New Delhi, July 31, 2025: The 20th Asian Roller-Skating Championship, held in South Korea, concluded with a record-breaking turnout. Over 600 skaters from 22 nations participated.

The prestigious event, governed by the Confederation of Asian Roller Sports (CARS), featured competitions in speed skating, inline hockey, freestyle, and artistic roller-skating.

India’s Naisha Nishit Mehta created history. She secured gold in the junior category, a first for an Indian skater at this international championship.

Mehta’s victory is a significant milestone for Indian roller-skating. It showcases the growing talent and potential within the nation’s sporting landscape.

This achievement is expected to boost the sport’s popularity in India and inspire a new generation of young athletes to pursue roller-skating. The government’s support for developing sports infrastructure will be crucial in nurturing this burgeoning talent.
