Police Brutality Against SSC Aspirants: NSUI Demands Justice
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has strongly condemned the alleged police lathi-charge on Staff Selection Commission (SSC) aspirants protesting exam irregularities in Delhi on July 31, 2025. The students were demonstrating against widespread paper leaks, exam cancellations, and alleged mismanagement.
NSUI leaders claim the police response was excessive and unjustified, demanding immediate accountability for the actions taken against peaceful protestors. They have called for a thorough investigation into the use of force.
The student wing of the Indian National Congress is also demanding a high-level inquiry into the entire SSC examination process. This inquiry should examine the systemic failures that led to the paper leaks and widespread cancellations.
Furthermore, NSUI is advocating for comprehensive reforms in the SSC examination system to prevent future occurrences of such irregularities and ensure fair and transparent recruitment processes. Stringent action against those responsible for the mismanagement and the alleged police brutality is also being demanded.
This incident highlights the growing concerns over the credibility of competitive examinations in India and the need for robust mechanisms to safeguard the interests of aspiring candidates. The lack of transparency and accountability in the system continues to impact the lives and futures of millions of young Indians.
