PSBs Outpace Private Banks in Credit Growth: CareEdge Report
Public sector banks (PSBs) significantly outperformed their private sector counterparts (PVBs) in credit growth during the first quarter of the current financial year, according to a new report by CareEdge.
The report, released on August 1, 2025, revealed that PSBs registered an impressive 11 per cent credit growth.
In contrast, private sector banks witnessed a comparatively slower growth rate of 8.1 per cent during the same period.
This substantial difference highlights the continuing dominance of PSBs in extending credit to various sectors of the Indian economy.
