Lambagaon Milkfed: Empowering Farmers, One Litre at a Time

The Lambagaon Milkfed Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) in Suan commenced milk procurement operations on August 1, 2025, offering Minimum Support Prices (MSP) to local dairy farmers. This initiative aims to significantly boost farmers’ incomes and revitalise rural agriculture in the region.

The FPO, already recognised for its work with turmeric and ginger, is committed to maintaining the highest quality milk standards. A notable aspect is the significant participation of women in the cooperative’s activities.

This model, successfully integrating women and focusing on quality, offers a replicable blueprint for other rural communities struggling with agricultural income disparities.
