BSF’s Himalayan Ascent: Honouring Heroes, Cleaning Mountains
The Border Security Force (BSF) has launched an ambitious mountaineering expedition to four peaks in Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. This challenging undertaking, commencing August 2, 2025, serves a dual purpose.
The expedition aims to hone the mountaineering skills of BSF personnel. It also stands as a tribute to fallen colleagues, honouring their sacrifice and legacy.
Leading the 35-member team is a Padma Shree awardee, showcasing the force’s commitment to excellence. Notably, the team includes women mountaineers, highlighting inclusivity within the BSF.
Beyond the mountaineering challenge, the expedition incorporates a crucial environmental element. The team is actively participating in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, collecting waste along their ascent.
This initiative underscores the BSF’s multifaceted role, extending beyond border security to encompass environmental responsibility and national pride. The success of this expedition will inspire future initiatives and strengthen the BSF’s image as a force committed to national service in diverse capacities.
