Kurukshetra’s Novel Night Watch: Clerks Take to the Beat
Kurukshetra police have initiated an unconventional crime-fighting strategy. Since July, office staff have been deployed for night patrols in Thanesar, Ladwa, and Shahabad.
The initiative aims to bolster police presence, particularly between 9 PM and 3 AM. This is a direct response to rising concerns about crime, including drunk driving and traffic violations.
These patrols have already yielded significant results. Numerous challans have been issued, and stranger rolls – a crucial tool for tracking suspicious individuals – have been updated.
The deployment of administrative staff reflects a resource-constrained but proactive approach to tackling law and order challenges. The success of this initiative will have significant implications for other districts facing similar limitations. This innovative approach deserves close monitoring for its effectiveness in enhancing public safety.
