Delhi School Fee Bill: Yadav Slams ‘Misleading’ Legislation
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Devender Yadav today launched a scathing attack on the Delhi School Education Bill, 2025, terming it misleading and insensitive to the plight of parents. He leveled serious accusations, alleging the bill actively undermines parental rights.
Yadav highlighted the bill’s lack of clear guidelines regarding fee structures, a critical omission leaving parents vulnerable to arbitrary hikes. He expressed concern over the bill granting excessive control to school managements in the composition of fee committees.
This, he argued, would inevitably lead to more disputes and further marginalize parents already grappling with escalating education costs. The MLA demanded an immediate withdrawal of the bill.
He stressed the urgent need for wider consultations with all stakeholders – parents, teachers, school managements – before enacting any legislation impacting the education sector. This, he believes, is crucial for creating a fair and just system.
The controversy underscores the growing tension between parents and private schools in Delhi over rising fees, a matter of significant concern for lakhs of families across the city. The outcome will likely shape the political discourse in the lead-up to the next elections.
