Punjab Police Foil Major Smuggling Plot: Bhagwanpuria Associate Nabbed
Amritsar police have made a significant arrest, thwarting a potential escalation of gang violence in the state. Nav Pandori, a close associate of jailed gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, was apprehended on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Pandori was allegedly set to receive a consignment of weapons smuggled from across the Pakistan border. This included a sophisticated AK 308 rifle, according to police sources.
A pistol was recovered during the arrest. Investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the smuggling operation and its potential impact on Punjab’s security.
The timely intervention by Amritsar police prevented what could have been a serious threat to law and order. The seizure of the weapons underscores the ongoing challenge posed by cross-border smuggling and the need for heightened vigilance. This arrest sends a strong message to those involved in such criminal activities.
