Army Officer’s Airport Assault Leaves SpiceJet Employee with Spinal Fracture
A SpiceJet employee, Mudasir Ahmad, suffered a spinal fracture after being allegedly assaulted by an Army officer at Srinagar airport on August 4, 2025. The incident occurred after Ahmad requested payment for the officer’s excess baggage.
The officer, reportedly carrying two bags weighing a total of 16 kg, became aggressive when asked to pay the excess baggage fee.
He physically attacked Ahmad, resulting in the serious spinal injury. Reports also indicate the officer pushed Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel who intervened.
The Indian Army has confirmed its cooperation with the ongoing investigation into the matter. The incident has raised serious concerns about the conduct of security personnel and the safety of airline staff at airports.
