Chogan Ward’s Slush-Filled Struggle: Residents Cry Foul Over Negligence
Residents of Chogan Ward No. 3 have been battling a treacherous, slushy pathway for a fortnight, their repeated pleas falling on deaf ears. The hazardous conditions, posing a significant risk to pedestrians, have prompted angry protests.
Despite lodging complaints and an inspection by the Assistant Engineer on March 31, 2025, the problem persists. The root cause? A bureaucratic tug-of-war over jurisdiction.
Both the Municipal Corporation (MC) President and the Ward Councillor have been apprised of the situation. Residents, however, remain frustrated by the lack of concrete action.
While the Assistant Engineer assures a swift resolution, the residents demand immediate intervention, highlighting the urgent need for accountability and efficient municipal services. This incident underscores the larger issue of bureaucratic inertia hindering timely responses to crucial civic concerns across many Indian cities.
