Delhi’s Green Tech Leap: E-waste Eco-Park to Revolutionize Recycling
Delhi is set to become a pioneer in e-waste management with the launch of India’s first e-waste eco-park in Holambi Kalan. The ambitious project, mirroring Norway’s successful Revac facility, will involve a substantial Rs 150 crore investment.
The park is designed to process a significant 51,000 metric tonnes of e-waste annually. This large-scale operation promises to formalize the largely informal e-waste sector, generating much-needed green jobs and revenue in the process.
The initiative aims to create a cleaner, more sustainable circular economy. By effectively managing e-waste, Delhi hopes to minimize environmental damage and recover valuable resources.
This innovative approach to e-waste management holds significant implications for other Indian cities grappling with the growing problem of electronic waste. Its success could pave the way for similar projects nationwide, offering a model for environmentally responsible and economically viable e-waste solutions. The project’s launch is expected sometime after August 4, 2025.
