Channi’s Office Siege: AAP MPs Share Space, Congress Seeks Explanation
Lok Sabha MP Charanjit Singh Channi (Congress) has voiced strong objections to three Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MPs sharing his parliamentary office. The shared space, deemed convenient for public interaction and media engagements, has now become a point of contention.
Channi alleges the arrangement, implemented on August 5, 2025, is a deliberate attempt to disrupt his work and access to constituents. He believes the office space was allocated solely for his use as the local Lok Sabha representative.
An AAP leader, however, defended the arrangement, stating it was a matter of efficient resource utilization within Parliament. No official statement has yet been issued by Parliament authorities.
This incident highlights the growing political tensions between the Congress and AAP in Punjab, particularly ahead of the upcoming state elections. The controversy underscores the need for transparent allocation of parliamentary resources and raises questions about the potential misuse of official spaces for political maneuvering.
