City Drowning in Neglect: Residents Voice Fury Over Civic Failures
A comprehensive survey spanning 20 wards and encompassing 34,186 residents has laid bare the grim state of civic amenities in the district. Waterlogging, rampant stray animals, dilapidated roads, and poor sanitation emerged as the most pressing concerns.
The survey, conducted recently, highlighted widespread dissatisfaction with the Municipal Corporation and Public Health departments. A majority of complaints directly targeted these two key bodies responsible for maintaining essential services.
Following the release of the survey data, the Deputy Commissioner has issued a stern directive. Concerned departments must now formulate and implement action plans to address the identified shortcomings. Action reports are expected shortly.
This stark picture of civic neglect underscores the urgent need for improved governance and accountability. The timely implementation of corrective measures is crucial to ensuring a better quality of life for the district’s residents. The upcoming monsoon season adds further urgency to these efforts.
