DC inspects flooded areas in Hisar villages

Hisar Floods: 80,000 Acres of Crops Submerged, Urgent Relief Demanded

Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav conducted a swift assessment of flood-ravaged villages in Hisar district following torrential rainfall on August 8, 2025. He immediately ordered the commencement of drainage operations to mitigate further damage.

Preliminary reports indicate a devastating impact on agriculture. Approximately 80,190 acres of standing crops, primarily cotton and paddy, have been affected.

Teams are currently compiling detailed damage assessments to facilitate swift compensation for affected farmers. The scale of the destruction underscores the urgent need for comprehensive relief measures.

The incident highlights the vulnerability of Haryana’s agricultural sector to extreme weather events and the critical need for robust disaster preparedness and efficient relief mechanisms. The timely disbursement of compensation will be crucial for the affected farmers’ recovery and to prevent further economic hardship.
