Sirmaur Police Net Big Fish in Drug Bust, Seize Crores in Assets

Sirmaur police have launched a major crackdown on drug trafficking, resulting in significant arrests and the seizure of substantial assets. The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) played a key role in these operations.

The SIU’s success includes the arrest of Besu Ram, a major drug dealer, following the seizure of 2.105 kg of charas and a sum of cash. This led to the subsequent arrest of Deep Ram, believed to be connected to the operation.

Further investigation into the financial dealings of the accused led to the seizure of assets worth Rs 52 lakh. This brings the total value of assets seized in four separate drug-related cases to a staggering Rs 2.72 crore.

This significant operation highlights the determined efforts of the Sirmaur police in combating the growing menace of drug trafficking in the region. The scale of the seizures underscores the deep roots of the problem and the need for sustained vigilance. The recovered assets will be further investigated to unearth the full extent of the network.
