Panjab University Climbs NIRF Ladder, Secures Top State Spot

Panjab University (PU) has registered a significant improvement in the recently released National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings. The university’s overall ranking saw a notable boost.

In a significant achievement, PU secured the third position amongst state universities. This marks a considerable jump from its previous ranking.

The university also shone in the pharmacy category, claiming third place. This reflects the quality of its pharmaceutical education and research.

PU’s engineering department also witnessed an upward trend in its ranking, demonstrating progress in this crucial field.

While the university maintained its strong standing in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) ranking, its research ranking saw a minor dip.

Despite the slight decline in research ranking, PU’s overall performance in the NIRF 2025 rankings showcases its commitment to academic excellence and its continued efforts to improve across various disciplines. This improved standing is crucial for attracting top talent and research funding, further bolstering Punjab’s higher education landscape.
