Delhi’s Heritage Gets a Youthful Boost: 28,000 Students Embrace “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi”

Delhi Chief Minister launched the New Delhi Municipal Council’s (NDMC) ambitious “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi” program on September 4, 2025. The initiative aims to instill a sense of pride in Delhi’s rich heritage amongst the city’s youth.

The program will benefit approximately 28,000 students, incorporating cultural values, environmental consciousness, and the spirit of ‘Swadheenta’ into their curriculum.

This unique educational approach seamlessly integrates development with the preservation of Delhi’s historical legacy. The curriculum is designed to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the city’s cultural tapestry.

Several dignitaries lauded the initiative, highlighting its alignment with national goals of progress and cultural preservation. They praised the innovative approach to education and its potential to shape a generation of responsible citizens.

The success of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi” will be crucial in shaping a future where Delhi’s vibrant heritage is not only protected but also celebrated by its young population. This model could inspire similar initiatives across the nation, fostering a stronger connection between India’s youth and its rich cultural heritage.
