ISIS Links in India: Joint Operation Nets Two Suspects

Delhi Police, in a coordinated operation with the Jharkhand Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Ranchi Police, successfully apprehended two suspected operatives linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on September 10, 2025.

Ashar Danish was arrested in Ranchi, while Aftab was taken into custody in Delhi. Preliminary investigations suggest both individuals were actively communicating with an ISIS-inspired network.

The suspects are believed to have been involved in activities aimed at furthering the terror group’s agenda within the country. Further details about their alleged roles are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.

The joint operation highlights the growing threat of ISIS-inspired radicalization within India and underscores the need for continued vigilance and inter-agency cooperation in combating terrorism. The arrests serve as a stark reminder of the persistent challenge posed by extremist ideologies and the importance of proactive counter-terrorism measures.
