A surprise raid by Haryana Chief Minister’s flying squad unearthed a massive illegal firecracker factory in Faridabad on Friday, September 12, 2025. The operation led to the seizure of over 10,000 firecrackers, along with significant quantities of potash and aluminum powder.

The factory, owned by Rohit Kumar, was operating without the necessary permissions, flouting safety regulations and potentially endangering lives. An FIR has been registered against Kumar for violating various laws.

Investigations revealed that the factory was also involved in electricity theft, further compounding the gravity of the offences. The power department is conducting a separate inquiry into this aspect.
